I had no idea how important abortion was until I found out the hard way that it can be the only way to end a pregnancy.

I was twenty-one and still in college when I found out I was pregnant even though I had used protection faithfully. From the moment I found out, there was no question that I'd end the pregnancy. I didn't want to be a parent - ever - and certainly not at that moment.
I knew that you should use condoms. I had one with me all the time. My high school boyfriend and I just didn't use them. "Pulling out totally works" he said to me once... *massive eye-roll".
I was 19 when Emma was born. I had no doubt at that point that abortion was out of the question. Even when it was suggested by many people very close to me.
