Know Your IX – Advocates for Youth’s survivor and youth-led project empowering students to end gender- based violence in schools – has championed this groundbreaking legislation alongside the National Women's Law Center, with nearly 80 other civil rights and survivor advocacy organizations endorsing the bill.
Advocates for Youth, with a very heavy heart, stands strongly in support of our LGBTQIA+ communities across the country and around the world. We send love and support to the city of Colorado Springs in the wake of the shooting at Club Q.
The consequences of this law will be severe. We are concerned for the young people who partner with us to end HIV criminalization in Pennsylvania - many of whom exist at the intersections of being Black, Indigneous and People of Color, queer and trans people, and people living with HIV.
We are mourning the recent murders of two members of the LGBTQI+ community at the LGBT+ bar, Tepláreň, in Slovakia’s capital of Bratislava. Advocates for Youth stands in solidarity with the brave young people fighting for LGBTQI+ rights and acceptance while protesting against these violent hate crimes.
Advocates for Youth and the Free the Pill Youth Council are outraged by the FDA’s decision to delay the meeting of its advisory committee to discuss approving an over-the-counter birth control pill.
“It’s hard to understand why the FDA would make this decision when birth control is such an urgent health care need,” said Debra Hauser, President, Advocates for Youth. “It’s so frustrating for the young people working hard to ensure everyone has access to contraception when they need it and without barriers.”
