Statement on the Build Back Better Act

Advocates for Youth applauds the passage of the Build Back Better Act by the U.S. House of Representatives last week and commends the Biden/Harris Administration for its commitment to combating systemic barriers and structural discrimination disproportionately impacting marginalized groups. Access to  affordable child care, employment, education, housing, health insurance and reproductive healthcare are crucial to the success of young birthing people and young parents. This piece of legislation is a vital stepping stone towards improving maternal health equity and protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of young families. We are hopeful that the Senate will equally recognize the significance of this bill and pledge to continue to help young families thrive and grow.
