I made bad choices in marriage. I was sole support for my son from my first marriage and my second husband. Pregnancy was very hard on me because it aggravated chronic health problems. I could not continue working if I carried the baby to term. So I decided to get an early abortion in order to protect myself and my family from economic hardship. I know it was the right decision even though I wished that there was a different alternative that would have worked. If a “pro-lifer” had been willing to support us through the pregnancy itself and through the first year of the child’s life, by that time, I would have been healthy enough to get back to work and care for both children. But “pro-lifers” aren’t really pro life.
