I was in my last semester of grad school, living with my boyfriend for a year and a half. I had an IUD, but it didn’t work right. My divorced brother was living with my parents with his daughter who was accidentally conceived prior to legal abortions in Michigan. My mom w as supporting the family while my dad was looking for work. I was 4 months from graduating and ready to support myself. I was planning to work five years and then start a family. I had an abortion, graduated and got a job, and later married my boyfriend. I decided not to have another abortion if I had another unplanned pregnancy. 12 years later, I had another unplanned pregnancy. I kept my baby and now my only son is 23. It was hard on me to remember that I terminated a pregnancy, but I truly feel it is a woman’s own decision. I am a born again Christian.
