In 1968 abortion was not legal. I was 19, wildly in love, naive and unready to have a child. An abortion was arranged with an MD.

Little did I expect it would be a back alley scene out of Love With the Proper Stranger. Blindfolded and alone I was escorted to a deserted building, forced to use a litter box to avoid the sound of plumbing and sent home without the ability for follow up. No one should be scared and forced to have a medical procedure under those conditions. I am 67 today and will never forget the impact that day had on my life. This cannot become the reality again.
