Dannielle

I was teaching junior high in a small rural town. I was 2.5 mos pregnant & very excited about the baby. Then, a strain of measles called rubella hit our school. Because I got no rad or any symptoms, I thought I was OK.

However, at my regular pre-natal check up, my doctor discovered I did indeed have rubella.after checking with other doctors and our state University med school, he explained to my husband and me that there was over a 90% chance our baby would be severely physically and mentally deformed. After watching the struggles regular kids had in this world, we decided not to bring a baby in the world with a huge chance of real problems, so I had an abortion. I have never been sorry or regretted the choice.
