This module reviews terminology related to gender, sex, and sexuality and discusses the development of gender identity/sexual orientation. Participants also learn about primary and specialized care that may be needed by transgender adolescents and explore how bias and stigma contribute to health disparities. The module concludes with strategies for providing appropriate and competent care to gender-diverse patients.
