This module covers the prevalence, risk factors and indicators for commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and discusses the role of health care providers in assessing and responding to CSEC. Critical considerations for CSEC youth are introduced, including appropriate use of terms, the difference between assessment and identification, health outcomes of CSEC, mandated reporting, and the principles of trauma-informed care.
