Kaniya Harris (she/her) is a law student, doula, and an abortion storyteller. She began her journey with Advocates as a youth activist with Abortion Out Loud, Co-Lead for the Youth Abortion Support Collective, and Youth Testify storyteller.
Prior to entering this role at Advocates, Kaniya worked at a third-trimester abortion clinic, where she provided trauma-informed, patient-centered care to patients. She also leads a Youth Advisory Committee for Montgomery County, NOW, supporting youth interested in reproductive justice, and serves on the National Organization for Women’s Young Feminist National Committee.
Kaniya graduated cum laude with additional university honors, earning Bachelor of Arts degrees in Justice & Law and Sociology. She is currently pursuing a Master of Legal Studies with a specialization in Health Law & Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles. In her free time, she loves baking, hosting get-togethers with friends, and watching shows.
