Youth, Advocates: Medication Abortion is Safe and Effective
Today, the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision to protect access to medication abortion, with no changes to its FDA status.
In response, Tamara Marzouk, Director of Abortion Access at Advocates for Youth, issued the following statement:
“The Supreme Court made the right decision today, rejecting anti-abortion extremists’ attempt to exploit the judicial system to bring a case with no merit before the Court. Medication abortion is safe, effective, and has been safely used by millions of people over the course of decades.
With abortion increasingly restricted across the country, young people have never stopped fighting to ensure everyone has the abortion access they need, through the method that works best for them. Though today’s Supreme Court decision comes as a relief, the work continues: young people will keep fighting to expand access to abortion nationwide.”
Youth abortion activists, storytellers, and experts are available for interviews to discuss how youth activists are mobilizing to protect abortion access in the face of restrictions that disproportionately impact their generation.
