I got pregnant in December 1970. I was an 18 year old college freshman, a virgin, with very little sexual experience.

I became a mother on my own terms. Having an abortion was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I knew if I had the baby, I didn’t want to be a single mom.

I would have done anything to save those babies, but I didn’t want to risk my life for a baby that had no chance of being born healthy.

The person I was then, and the things that I was struggling with, I could not have been a mother.

I got pregnant in my early 40s. I wasn’t willing to go through a pregnancy and have another child.

I had a super positive experience with Planned Parenthood and wanted to share my story for anyone who is nervous about having an abortion.

I am almost positive that without the access to abortion I would not be here today.

I have a degree, a career, had 2 kids in my 30s, have a loving husband of 20 years and made the right decision all those years ago.
