Mourning Renee Good and Condemning Unconscionable ICE Violence

Advocates for Youth condemns the latest horrific and deadly act of violence by ICE agents in Minnesota. Renee Nicole Good should be alive today. For too long, families across the United States have lived in fear of deportation and political violence at the hands of federal immigration officials. ICE agents have no place on our streets and no right to occupy our communities or enter our schools. We strongly reject baseless rhetoric from Trump and the Administration in support of this killing, and we stand with the people of Minnesota in their outrage, grief, and defiance.

We’ve said it before: we cannot and must not accept a society that forces young people to live with fear, violence, and trauma every day. We must abolish the systems that put young people at risk and work toward a future that is safe for every young person regardless of family origin, immigration status, or political ideology.
