It is deeply troubling that Planned Parenthood has been forced out of the Title X program – putting access to affordable birth control and other family planning services out of reach for millions of people across the country. This has dangerous impacts on young people, as we know that 39.1% of all Title X clients were under the age of 25. Once again, the Trump administration is putting into action its contempt for the health of young people, by issuing these rules on Title X and forcing clinics like Planned Parenthood out of a program — and is instead providing grants to anti-abortion and abstinence-only groups that do not offer birth control or comprehensive sexual health education or care. The impacts of this will be chilling. Young people deserve better.
