Job Opening: AMAZE File Vault Consultant
Advocates for Youth (Advocates) seeks a consultant to assist with gathering, organizing, and archiving AMAZE video production assets.
Organizational Description: Advocates for Youth (Advocates) partners with young people and their adult allies to champion youth rights to bodily autonomy and build power to transform policies, programs, and systems to secure sexual health and equity for all youth.
Project Description: Advocates for Youth implements a global initiative called AMAZE, which provides digital sexuality education resources through short, animated videos and complementary resources for young people, teachers, and parents. The project for this consultancy consists of receiving, organizing, archiving, and managing all AMAZE animation assets to facilitate share with partner organizations who further adapt videos to their local contexts.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Amaze File Vault Consultant will assist in an ongoing project to gather and manage an inventory of all of the animation assets for each of the videos we have created, and migrate these files into an organized archive, or ‘vault’ on Google Drive. This content will be used by the Amaze team and partner organizations to distribute, modify and adapt videos for various purposes.
We work with a variety of animators and software to create, impactful relevant content for young folks. The consultant’s role will be to go through each video’s assets, identify what was delivered, and cross-reference it against the types of information we need for each video. The consultant will then need to rename and organize the files and folders properly, upload them into our shared storage area, set file permissions, and document content status.
In addition, the consultant will work with the AMAZE International Team to field requests to file assets and organize localized content.
SKILLS NEEDED
● Comfortable dealing with large numbers of files (computer & cloud) in animation domain. Ability to identify, rename, organize, and upload various types of assets.
● Ability to reorganize and rename files locally using pattern-based tools such as ABFR (https://www.publicspace.net/ABetterFinderRename), as well as manual corrections using computer operating systems.
● Familiarity with Google Drive permission structures and sharing methods via Google Drive.
● Use of spreadsheets (Google Sheets) to track and document progress.
● General familiarity with a variety of file types relating to graphic design, audio, video, and common animation tools.
QUALITIES:
The successful candidate must:
● Be meticulous and careful about file integrity, security, and thoroughness.
● Be willing to ask questions and show initiative in ambiguous cases.
● Access to high speed internet or willingness to upgrade
COMPENSATION
$50-60 per hour for authorized hours. Consultant will keep a timesheet of hours worked and tasks performed.
Timing: Consultant must be available for up to 20 hours per week.
