Advocates for Youth applauds the Biden-Harris administration for prioritizing reproductive and sexual health, rights, and justice in their First 10 Days, but urges even further actions to expand access to care for young people, LGBTQ and BIPOC communities moving forward.

The first 100 days of the Biden-Harris administration and the 117th Congress should be a time to course-correct the harms of the last four years, while re-imagining a future that actually centers young people, LGBTQ folks, communities of color, and those most impacted by harmful federal and state regulations and legislation. 

We knew that Trump's Supreme Court would impose restrictions on abortion, and now we're continuing to see that they're willing to contribute to the spread of deadly pandemic in the name of their goal of ending legal abortion.

Advocates for Youth congratulates Senator Raphael Warnock for his win in the Georgia Senate. With Jon Ossoff holding a strong lead, we may see Democrats win both seats and take a Senate majority - a huge win for Georgia and for the nation.

We stand with our colleagues across the reproductive health, rights, and justice movement  in calling for an end to the discriminatory and oppressive Hyde Amendment.

If we have any hope of pulling this country back from the brink, we need to work alongside BIPOC youth activists who are putting their lives on the line to protect their communities.
