Sex Educate US is a grassroots movement of youth in Minnesota, Alabama, and Nevada advocating for accurate and inclusive sex education. Young people have the right to lead healthy lives. We need sex education that is honest, complete, and accurate.

Alabama
The Alabama Youth Activist Alliance is a group of 14-24 year olds organizing around reproductive health. Since our creation in 2020, we have organized young Alabamians around reproductive health and experienced major wins along the way. In 2021, we successfully organized around the removal of homophobic language from the current abstinence only sex education curriculum in public classrooms. This was just our first step in creating a new framework for sex education in Alabama. Student leaders got innovative and advocated to get the University of Montevallo to give a student-made sex ed resource to ALL students in curriculum by requiring it be included in course syllabi.
Minnesota
After a multiyear Sex Educate US MN campaign engaging youth, teachers, parents throughout the state, we passed state legislation to improve sex ed in 2024. We are now working closely with the MN Dept of Ed to improve sex ed and make it as inclusive as possible, but this is only the beginning!
Nevada
The Nevada Youth Activist Alliance is youth-led coalition fighting for sexual health rights, bodily autonomy, and reproductive justice in the state of Nevada. our goal is to bring comprehensive sex ed to our state to ensure that young people feel protected, supported, and valued in their sexual health decisions that will promote wellbeing and safety; Nevada currently sees that young people ages 15-24 make up almost half of the new STD cases each year.
