I had an abortion when I was in college in the early 1990’s. At that age, many people are careless sexually, and I was one of them. There was no way that I was going to have a baby. I didn’t even consider about it. Fortunately, Planned Parenthood understood, and referred me to a clinic that performed abortions. At the time, there were people picketing this clinic, due to the ‘upswing’ in the anti-woman movement. These people have no idea what women go through. Fortunately, they weren’t there the day that I went, and the employees couldn’t have been nicer. There was no judgment, no shame. They knew that these things happen. It was the best decision I have ever made. Ever since, I have been an advocate for women’s health, and I am disgusted by the recent misogyny I have seen.
