I’m thrilled that women are telling their stories about pregnancy termination. In 1985, when I was 21, and had my abortion, (unmarried, needed to finish college, highly catholic family would have been devastated) there was so much stigma and shame associated with abortion, that I was afraid to tell anyone and only shared it with one friend! Suppressing what we need to do for our health is what keeps the anti-choice movement strong. Telling our stories feels fantastic and empowering. It is not wrong to choose to terminate a pregnancy. It is one part of what it means to be a woman.
