I was a young woman in my twenties in a complicated relationship, when I found that I was pregnant. It was 1976, so thankfully I had choices. On a visit back east, I had an early procedure that did not completely work (did I have twins??) but I was clueless – So I went back out west, where I did not have a doctor. Planned Parenthood helped me figure out that I was still pregnant and counseled me on my choices. I was fortunate to be able to obtain a safe and legal abortion. I have no regrets. I was not able or ready to raise a child as a single mom at that time, and it was clear that my boyfriend was also not ready.
