When I was 17 (in the late 80’s), I got pregnant. I was in high school in the south and my family was extremely poor. We weren’t taught about health or our bodies at all and there was no internet to turn to for answers. I knew my family couldn’t handle a new mouth to feed. I got a job at a convenience store, worked for two months and used my checks to pay for it. I have NEVER ONCE regretted my decision and now that I have kids. I’m glad I didn’t have a child I wasn’t financially or mentally ready for.
