I had an abortion and I have not regretted the decision for one minute. My pregnancy was planned but unfortunately, I ended up with a very rare ectopic pregnancy located in my c-section scar. The answer for my family was obvious, preserve my life for me, for my living child and for the rest of my family. I feel nothing but gratitude that my doctors treated me with dignity and compassion, that I was given the safe and legal options and that I did not endure the rule of arcane, religious dogma dictating what my choice and path. Had I not been allowed to safely terminate my pregnancy, I would have died. I know that others have not been as fortunate as me in having a choice so readily available. I will fight to make sure all women, regardless of why they make it, have access to safe and legal abortion options.
