I was 22 years old and a senior in college when my boyfriend left me for another girl. I became very depressed and didn’t find out I was pregnant until two months later. I was angry at myself for being so irresponsible, at my ex-boyfriend for the way he treated me, and at my family because I knew if I’d told them about the pregnancy, they’d have made me carry it to term.

By the time I raised enough money for the procedure, I was too far along to have it done in my state and had to travel to Alabama. The procedure was very painful and drawn out over three days. I was fortunate enough to have a friend come with me. I am extremely thankful for the doctor and staff at the clinic. It’s now been over a year since my abortion and I have began a successful career and life on my own. I know my decision was right for me.
