I was 23 years old. Roe vs wade had just passed. I was pregnant and could not disgrace my parents. I am not sorry.
I wasn’t ready to be a mother. I flew from Arizona to los Angeles. They had a pretty efficient system where you checked in, were put on a guerny, placed on a plane-taking-off kind of line, and into surgery. Then to a make shift recovery room, where we lay on chaise lounge chairs. Then we were given birth control pills and sent on our way. My boy friend, (now my husband), took me and picked me up from the airport.
