Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Get the Facts

What are sexually transmitted infections (STIs)? STIs are infectious and contagious bacteria or viruses which are spread from one person to another primarily through sexual contact. There are approximately 15 million new cases of STIs every year. There are three to four million STIs among teens a year. This feature is designed to provide you with the latest "411" on sexually transmitted infections and ways to protect yourself from infection.
