Rights. Respect. Responsibility.® The Fix the GAP Campaign—
Stop U.S. Exportation of Abstinence-Only Programs

Petition

Together, we the undersigned:

Urge national governments to listen to young people and to include them in leadership positions in the battle against HIV and AIDS.

Commit to work with our peers to stop the spread of HIV and AIDS, to promote messages of hope, and to work for meaningful change in our own lives and the lives of all those around us.

Accept our share of the burden to act responsibly and stop this pandemic. We promise to work to lighten the load for the next generation through the work we do now.

And we demand that:

All youth-oriented, HIV prevention programs be comprehensive and cover a range of options, including providing information about abstinence, monogamy, and contraception. These programs must not censor lifesaving information, such as the effectiveness of condoms in preventing HIV.

All health care services be youth friendly and confidential. Sexually active young people should not be marginalized and need information and access to condoms for their health and well-being.

Youth and adults be treated as full and equal partners in the fight against HIV and AIDS. This means including youth in meaningful ways at all levels of program and policy work.

All fields are required.
