The DEADLINE for submissions is April 1, 2007!

  • The Rights. Respect. Responsibility. Condom Campaign is open to residents of the United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam who are between the ages of 15 and 24 years as of April 1, 2007.
  • Salaried employees of Advocates for Youth or Sex, Etc. are not eligible to win. Activists who are current members of Advocates for Youth or Sex, Etc. youth programs (Advocates for Youth Campus and High School Organizer Teams, International Youth Leadership Council, MySistahs and YouthResource Peer Educators, Young Women of Color Leadership Council, and Sex, ETC. Staff Writers) or current interns are not eligible to win.
  • By participating in this contest, entrants and their parents or legal guardians agree to be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of the judges appointed by Advocates for Youth and Sex Etc.
    • Decisions of the judges are final and binding.
    • Incomplete entries will be ineligible for judging.
    • Advocates for Youth will not acknowledge receipt of entries.
    • Advocates for Youth reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the winning entries.
    • All entries become the property of Advocates for Youth and its Rights. Respect. Responsibility. Condom Campaign.
    • Advocates for Youth reserves the right to alter any submitted design--whether winning or not--for use during or after the contest ends.
    • This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
    • The Contest begins on January 1, 2007, at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time and ends on April 1, 2007 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

  1. How to Enter: Create a postcard online-one that sends a positive and/or funny message about using condoms. After saving the image to your computer, send it to Advocates for Youth and to as many people as you wish. By entering, entrants agree to abide by the contest rules and certify their entry or entries to be their own work. You may enter as many times as you wish. Remember that:
    • Incomplete entries will be ineligible for judging;
    • Advocates for Youth reserves the right to alter any entry for its own use during and after the contest ends;
    • All entries become the property of Advocates for Youth;
    • Advocates for Youth will not acknowledge receipt of entries; and
    • Entries must be received by April 1, 2007.
  2. Judging: The judges will assess the entries for their creativity, originality, clarity, and suitability for use by Advocates for Youth in the Campaign. Judges' decisions on all matters are final.
  3. Prizes: One Grand Prize winner will receive $500, and his/her winning design may be featured in the nationwide Campaign sponsored by Advocates for Youth and Sex, Etc. Two (2) Second Prize winners will be chosen; each will receive $250. Substitution, transfer, or cash equivalents will not be offered in exchange for the cash prizes. Registration and/or trademarks used in this Contest are the property of the respective trademark owners and are used herein for identification purposes only. Prizes will be awarded to the winner(s) by name. Any federal, state and/or local taxes and all other expenses associated with the prize and not explicitly defined herein are the sole responsibility of the winner. If the winner is a minor, then his/her parents/guardians will be fiscally responsible for taxes and other expenses associated with the prize.
  4. Entry Information: Entries must be received by April 1, 2007. Proof of submission does not constitute proof of delivery.
  5. Winners: The winner will be notified by phone, postal mail, and/or e-mail within 60 days of the judging and will be required to complete an Affidavit of Eligibility/Promotional Liability Release. The Release must be signed and returned to Advocates for Youth within 14 days of the verified notification date, or an alternate winner will be selected.
  6. Conditions: Entering this Contest constitutes permission to use the entrant's name, photograph, and/or other likeness for the purpose of advertising and promotion on behalf of Advocates for Youth, without further compensation unless prohibited by law. Entrant represents and warrants that any design submitted is an original, non-published work and does not infringe on the rights, including copyright, of any third party. By entering, entrant transfers to Advocates for Youth all rights, title, and interest, including copyright, in and to the winning design. Noncompliance with Official Rules will result in disqualification. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
  7. Limitations of Liability: By entering this Contest, entrant holds harmless all released parties, and Contest sponsors (Advocates for Youth and Sex, Etc.) from any liability whatsoever for any claims, costs, injuries, losses, liability, actions, or damages of any kind or in connection with: (1) entering the Contest, (2) accepting any prize; or (3) anything related to the Contest and the awarding of prizes. Any and all claims relating to this Contest shall be governed by Washington, DC law, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and any proceedings regarding such claims must be conducted in Washington, DC.
