GLOVE AFFAIR
“I found out about the contest through an event that my school hosts called ‘Glove Affair.’ It’s kind of like an AIDS awareness/STD educational dance for high school students. Things like the Advocates for Youth’s condom contest really fit in with making this information a little easier for teens to accept by making it a little more fun.”
HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
“It was a very open program, which I really appreciate having because all the fear or confusion or misunderstanding I had about any concepts I kind of got over in middle school.”
THE ITALIAN RESTAURANT
“I went to the bathroom and in the little area where they have postcards usually I was looking and I saw two or three of the Advocates for Youth designs, that I’d seen or that I’d been sent after I won. I was like ‘Hey, I recognize those! I’ve know those designs!’ It was very cool to see that they were actually getting out there.”
ABSTINENCE ONLY
“I think things like the abstinence only education just leaves students kind of ignorant of what’s out there. And when you’re lacking that knowledge, it’s really easy to get into dangerous situations.”
