TRADING PICTURES WITH MY FRIENDS
"I ended up trading my pictures with my friends, showing them “Hey, look what I did!” And then they downloaded the tool and were like, “Hey, look what I did,” trading back and forth, trying to figure out, you know, who was wittiest, and who was stupidest, and just have fun playing around with it.”

“HERES YOUR ANATOMY. DON’T GET AIDS.”
“I didn’t find out until after I’d engaged in some risky behaviors that they were in fact risky behaviors… I didn’t know that for years after – and that is not good.”

SOMETHING WE EXPECT FROM OUR SCHOOLS
“Most of our parents never had to deal with AIDS being a serious threat to them. They don’t know how to relate that to their kids… But that needs to be something that we expect form our schools. It’s something that shouldn’t just be left up to the kid educating themselves – because so many don’t have the resources to do so, or don’t know how.”

TALKING WITH MY FAMILY
“I think it was a lot easier for my brothers to talk to my mom about sex ed stuff just through the contest, by talking about the contest. Not necessarily sex ed in specific, or the contest in specific, but mixing the two together.”

KEEP WORKING ON SEX ED ISSUES
“I want to be a positive role model for lesbian, gay, bisexual youth. Kids need positive role models that reflect something within themselves and representation in the adult community so they can see where they’re going to fit in the world.”
