The International Youth Leadership Council was formed in October 2000 as a project of Advocates for Youth. It is composed of young people with family ties to and interest in the developing world. These youth leaders work to improve the reproductive health and well-being of their peers. The 2012-2013 council members are:![]() Council members serve as youth educators, advocates, and spokespeople on issues of adolescent sexual and reproductive health. Their work aligns with Advocates for Youth's vision of Rights.Respect.Responsibility.®. Council members develop media outreach campaigns, conduct policy forums, plan and run press conferences, participate in advocacy visits to policy makers, and attend conferences to further the goals of the International Youth Leadership Council:
