Sexual Diversity and Rights

Advocates applies its Rights, Respect, Responsibility® philosophy to policy research and advocacy aimed at ensuring equal rights for young people around the world regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Sexual orientation and gender identity are some of the most complex aspects of human nature.  For the individual, exploring and understanding their sexual orientation or gender identity can sometimes be a very confusing and trying process, but with support from peers, family, and society, it can also be an emotionally secure experience.

One of the most critical components of this work is our commitment to respecting cultural sensitivity to issues of sexual diversity.  It is our goal to support young people and their families around the world in the formation of societies that value young people and embrace sexual diversity as a social strength.  Through this global shift in social paradigms, we hope to contribute to the empowerment and improvement of the public health of young people of all sexual and gender orientations and identities.
