I am super passionate about developing federal policy that will grant youth across the states the right to a comprehensive education regarding their sexual health.

Delilah is a member of the campus organizing team.

“I’m sane but I’m overwhelmed/I’m lost but I’m hopeful baby…/ And what it all comes down too, is that everything going to be fine, fine, fine…/ Cause I got one hand in my pocket and the other one’s giving a high-five(Alanis Morissette 1995)”. This nineties hit is quite corny but passionately defines my drive in the movement for youth sexual health rights. My name is Delilah and I am a third year pursuing dual degrees at the University of Virginia. The first of the two is SWAG (Studies in Women and Gender) and the second is GDS (Global Development Studies).

In short, I am a crazy feminist trying to change the world. Jokes aside, I chose to seek these degrees as a way to heighten my knowledge, which I felt would ultimately cultivate within me a mind capable of moving the masses in the fight for youth sexual health rights.

Despite the opposition that I encounter every time I chose to organize an event or talk to a school board representative, I am confident and resilient enough to take each stride in moderation. Each success brings additional responsibility and the search for progression from that new point, so I humbly celebrate those successes while simultaneously developing strategic plans for our next move. I am really just super passionate about developing federal policy that will grant youth across the states the right to a comprehensive education regarding their sexual health and the abundance of resources within this great nation. I believe each youth should be able to live a happy, successful life without the stress produced by the lack of sexual health education.
