I got involved with activism because I began to take notice of how many people are actually involved with risky behavior and getting pregnant because of it. I have grown very passionate about the issue. I now feel like I have a responsibility to try and correct this because I have been educated. Kaila, 18, works with Advocates for Youth and the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP) as a member of Georgia Youth Understanding Pregnancy Prevention (G-YUPP).
Young people must play a role in the adolescent reproductive and sexual health and rights movement because we know how to talk to other young people and actually get them to listen. This is one of the strongest, if not the strongest, roles young people can play.
