Wyoming doesn’t require sex education in public schools, even though 47 percent of high school students report already having had sex.

Sex Education

With no policy requiring sex education, Wyoming has not taken the necessary action to guarantee complete, comprehensive sex ed for its students. The state does require that students receive HIV prevention education.

Health Outcomes

Wyoming has a lower than average teen pregnancy rate and among the lowest AIDS and STI rates of any state. Its sexually active high school students reported condom use at rates near the national rate.
