Rights. Respect. Responsibility.®: What Youth Activists Can Do

Today, over one-third of all U.S. schools censors information about contraception and disease prevention. "Just Say No" has become the sexual health program promoted by the U.S. government. Over $500 million dollars in federal and state funds have been allocated to teach young people that "abstinence until marriage is the only acceptable form of human sexual behavior."

But there is a better way. The rates of teenage births, abortions and STI are significantly lower in countries where sexual health information is widely available, young people are encouraged to use contraception, and youth are valued. As a young person, you have the right to sexual health information and services. You have the right to become a sexually healthy adult. Young people can educate each other and speak out as advocates for youth.

Join together with other youth activists in the Keep it REAL Campaign as they raise their voices about the need for honest sex education in communities across the United States >>
