Social conservatives have dominated discourse around religion and sexuality, contending that those who believe in comprehensive sex education, GLBTQ rights, and safe and legal abortion are immoral and stand in opposition to religious teachings. But Advocates for Youth joins with millions of religious and spiritual youth and adults in believing that faith, and a positive approach to healthy sexuality, are not mutually exclusive. Some religious communities promote unhealthy or discriminatory ideology that damages public health. But religious communities can also serve as centers of support, resistance and political action.
