Through Advocates’ Cultural Advocacy and Mobilization Initiative, Advocates seeks to change society’s dysfunctional approach to sexual health.

Advocates’ youth-driven community Amplify is the vehicle for much of this activism.  Amplify members in the United States and around the world create and participate in campaigns, blog about issues and events in culture and politics, take online actions toward ensuring adolescent reproductive and sexual health and rights, and increase the awareness of youth sexual health issues in the greater online community.  

Advocates staff and youth activists monitor the culture to heighten awareness and bring a critical perspective to the TV, movies, and online phenomena that influence sexual health.  Further, Advocates brings sexual health and rights issues out to the greater blogosphere by starting conversations in mainstream progressive communities and making sure young people’s voices are heard.
