For young women ages 15 to 19 in low and middle income countries, complications from pregnancy are the leading cause of death. Access to family planning services and commodities such as male and female condoms are critical to saving these young women’s lives and allowing them to plan their pregnancies. Tell Congress to Eliminate Abstinence-Only Funding
Over the past 12 years, Congress has invested over $1.5 billion in programs that mislead young people and promote scientifically-inaccurate information. Most recently, a long-term, scientific evaluation mandated by Congress confirmed that these programs are ineffective at helping young people abstain from sex. The facts are in and now Congress must act to stop throwing good money after bad! Tell Congress to eliminate all federal funding for failed abstinence-only-until-marriage programs!
