Working with Youth
Thompson Print

Thompson is a member of the Nigeria Youth Advocates Group through the International Youth Speak Out Project.

ThompsonMy name is Thompson. I am a 16-year old high school graduate and I am a member and peer educator of Education as a Vaccine against AIDS (EVA).  EVA helps young people to know more about who they are and how to live healthy lives. I was born in 1992 in the Imo State and I was raised in Kano State of Nigeria

I joined EVA in the year 2008 in Abuja at Karu village because I love to educate people about HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STI’s). Before I joined EVA, I was already in a club that addressed HIV/AIDS in my secondary school. I also volunteered for Centre for Development and Population Activities (CEDPA). Now, I am a member of the youth advocacy council, supported by EVA and Advocates for Youth.  I am someone who loves to teach and empower youth to make a difference in their country.

I am a jovial person and I love to see people being active in things they are passionate about. I am proud to be a peer educator and a member of the national youth leadership council.  I am happy and willing to work with all my strength and support.
