We need to fight for a healthier NC

EmilioFirst of all let me introduce myself. My name is Emilio. I am a junior in high school. I am originally from Guatemala. North Carolina has been my home for most of my life, and helping to make it a healthier place is important. Like anyone would protect what they value the most, North Carolina, being a part of my history, is what I want to protect.

I joined the North Carolina Youth Leadership Council so that I can be part of a great cause. I know that promoting a healthier way of living, and informing adolescents about themselves will be very rewarding. I want to make sure that North Carolinians know that the choices that they make will have an impact on them, and hopefully with education and information at their side, they can make wise choices.

Even though I am new to the North Carolina Youth Leadership Council and Advocates for Youth, I will hopefully contribute to making North Carolina a healthier place. I hope to be a helping hand in reducing teen pregnancy in North Carolina, and make sure that teens are informed about sexuality, and that they make healthful, wise decisions for themselves. With Advocates for Youth at my side, I also hope to learn about making good decisions for myself.
