It considers how concepts of masculinity contribute to young men's sexual risk behaviors and their problems in intimate relationships. It discusses the interplay of cultural competence and social justice and how to create culturally relevant programs. It discusses barriers to health care and arts programs that promote young people's sexual health. Stories by youth of color underscore the importance of the Rights. Respect. Responsibility.® paradigm, and a lesson plan provides opportunities for young people to improve communication skills related to sexual risk reduction.
