Greater than AIDS: Deciding Moments Print
Editor's Note: We wanted to pass along this update from our friends at the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

The Elton John AIDS Foundation (EJAF) is a proud partner of Greater Than AIDS, a national movement that brings together some of the country’s largest media companies and other corporate partners, private foundations, local health departments, and AIDS service organizations. Through a national media campaign and targeted community outreach, Greater Than AIDS aims to increase knowledge and understanding about HIV/AIDS and confront the stigma surrounding the disease, with a particular emphasis on reaching Black Americans.

You can hear more from the inspiring individuals featured in the campaign, in their own words, here.

This month, Greater Than AIDS launches the next phase of its national media campaign, called Deciding Moments. Drawn from real-life stories of people from across the country, including individuals living with HIV, the campaign highlights everyday choices we can make to change the course of this disease – from getting tested, to using protection, to correcting a piece of misinformation, to keeping up with one’s treatment regimen.

Over 5,000 Deciding Moments outdoor ads have started appearing in cities across the country, and the campaign is working with state and local health partners to tag those public service ads with local hotlines and other resources. Print, radio, and online placements are also rolling out this fall. Greater Than AIDS receives significant media exposure through commitments of partners including American Urban Radio Networks, CBS Radio and Outdoor, Clear Channel Communications, Ebony, ESSENCE Communications, and Radio One, among others. Through targeted partnerships with HERE Media and Logo, among others, Greater Than AIDS is increasing its outreach to gay and bisexual men.

In partnership with Walgreens, Greater Than AIDS collected more than 400 “Deciding Moments” from attendees at the recent U.S. Conference on AIDS. To view these inspiring photos and stories, or post your own, visit the Greater Than AIDS Facebook page:
